Chocolate Cardamom Brown Sugar Cake

This cake is half-brownie-half-cake and is also a major crowd pleaser. Plus, it makes your home smell amazing when it's in the oven - perfect for right before guests come over.

Chocolate Cardamom Brown Sugar Cake

3 eggs

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup flour

1 cup chocolate chips, melted with 2 tbsp milk

1 stick melted butter

1/2 tsp cardamom

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Whisk eggs and sugars until light and creamy.

Mix in flour until combined.

Stir in melted chocolate, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, and melted butter, and mix until combined.

Pour into a well-greased shallow pan. Note that the cake does not rise. Any pan between about 9 and 12 inches should work, but the depth of the cake will vary.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes until a knife in the center comes out clean (time will vary depending on pan size).
